Auld Lang Syne, Happy New Year Everyone

Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind ?
Should
old acquaintance be forgot,
and
old lang syne ?

CHORUS:
For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,
we'll take a cup of kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

And surely you’ll buy your pint cup !
and surely I’ll
buy mine !
And we'll take a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

CHORUS

We two have run about the slopes,
and
picked the daisies fine ;
But we’ve wandered
many a wearyfoot,
since auld lang syne.

CHORUS

We two have paddled in the stream,
from morning sun till dine ;
But seas between us
broad have roared
since auld lang syne.

CHORUS

And there’s a hand my trusty friend !
And
give us a hand o’ thine !
And we’ll
take a right good-will draught,
for auld lang syne.

CHORUS

Wishing Everyone a Very Happy Christmas & New Year 2010

So as I write this close to midnight it's the first time I've felt Christmassy. Flicking through the stations I came across Midnight Mass on RTE One and the choir was singing Silent Night which was indeed very nice. It is hard to believe though it's Christmas tomorrow, where did the year go can someone tell me ?

I just want to take this time to wish everyone a Very Happy Christmas & New Year 2010. I know I'll be relaying this message in person to most, but to the people I won't get the chance to in person I'd like to do so now. Granted some may check this site, some may not even know it exists. Some I'm in some form of irregular contact with and some for one reason or another I've lost contact with.

I guess the meaning of Auld Lang Syne is exactly what I'm trying to say here. This Christmassy feeling has me feeling all sentimental I guess.

Anyway, I really do hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas with Family, Friends and loved ones. May 2010 bring everyone nothing but happiness. In the world we live in, it's the least we all deserve.

Things got a little heated.... lol !

See below for what turned out to be a good old laugh/heated but for the fun of it conversation.

My over all point is SO WHAT if some x-factor crap song gets to number one. I won't be listening to it, no one is forcing anyone to listen to it or buy it so what exactly is the issue. From what you'll see below and the points I raised is it's people trying to be way too cool for school with the whole "Rage Against the Machine for No.1" campaign. Basically cheating their way to get a result. Buy no more than 2 copies and all this. The so called "down with it" people who listen to "real music" are in fact the ones who are acting like a bunch of bitches in my opinion. Where are the "real music" listeners all the other weeks of the year when other crap gets to number 1 ??? It doesn't say much when the people that are going out buying the crap x-factor song are just buying it normally. Not starting a big agenda to get it to number one....

Either way I'd love if neither song gets to number one though I'm sure one or the other will leaning more towards R.A.T.M. At the end of the day the big point they are trying to make is lost because it's a fabricated number one. Be it the fabricated x-factor song or the fabricated R.A.T.M agenda...

Brant Clarke BLEH and I mean BLEH to the "Rage Against the Machine" for the Christmas No.1 group. The real bang of trying to be too cool for school, down with the corporate machine vibe of it. Trying to "not conform" with the masses but yet doing it in the most conforming way... ON FACEBOOK. Go to your theology class in Trinity and shut up. Meh, MEH IT TO HELL !

well they have a huge following in the group, it's the principal of when was the last time R.A.T.M were No.1 ?? So what if some shit X-Factor song gets to No.1. If someone wants to go out and buy it thats their own business and at least they are doing it without a "down with the corporate machine" nonsense reason". I'll have the last laugh

And now you do what they told ya! Don't be such a capitalist Clarke, introduce a little anarchy as the Joker once said. Nothing wrong with playing Cowell at his own game. Although I'm at a loss as to what it has to do with theology???????

I think it's a great thing that there's still people out there that haven't been brainwashed into thinking that we all have to lie down for the X Factor juggernaut and that it's NOT, as opposed to what Louis Walsh et al might think, a given that they should be no. 1 in the charts. I'm all for it and long may it continue. Sick of having X Factor forced on me for weeks on end and then being told that this is what is going to be no. 1 and there's nothing we can do about it, well no, I like RATM because it's proper music and so I'll be buying that and hoping that we won't be subjected to the latest manufactured pop karaoke for once at the top of the charts

There's more people out there that don't watch x-factor than there is that do. Mindless crap gets to no.1 every week of the year and as most of these people don't actually go out and put their money were their mouth is every week what will this be, a once a year event ? It's trying not to conform in the most conforming way. No one forcing anything on anyone. Like I said if people want to go out and buy "proper music" or "un-proper music..." that's their choice. If the song does get to no.1, either song, it's not a true refection in either case. It'll be a fabricated number 1. That in point is my issue.

Can't beat a good old revolution, granted it's an organised revolution but that's how to get results. One voice wont be heard so people are coming together to do this. Put it this way - on Christmas Day when they play the Christmas no.1 on tv / radio, which would you rather hear, another banal cardboard cover or a band who are the extreme opposite of everything that stands for
